Explore Developments like Never Before, with Active Site Plans
Explore Developments like never before, with active site plans
Back in the day, in ye olden times, when a developer bought a plot of land, they’d rely on a 3D physical model and a persuasive salesman to sell a new build. Now, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek from us because plenty of developers still use these techniques. But something’s different in 2022, developers are using older tools in combination with more sophisticated digital tools like our active site plans.
Relying on old school techniques alone, buyers would have to jump in their cars in the cold and blustery British weather and visit the development, trying to picture what their 5 bedroom house with a garden would look like, amongst the building site. Next, out would come the marketing pamphlets in the marketing suite.
Again, we’re not saying a visit to site isn’t useful, it certainly is. But with active site plans prospective buyers can go much, much deeper and explore their property of choice in detail, before its even been built.
Well, if like many, you are still new to EyeSiteView active site plans, we’ll take you through the key features and everything worth knowing:
What exactly is an ‘active site plan?’
An active site plan is your new central hub for everything on the development. True to its name, the active site plan is a map and plot-by-plot guide to every property on your development. Thanks to its dynamic nature, it plugs into your existing CMS and updates every time a property is listed, changes price, becomes unavailable or even a central hub for all your virtual tour and product selector experiences.
Not only is the active site plan an incredibly engaging way to draw prospective buyers into your homes, its a central organisational tool for all your listings.
Our first key feature is the site overview. Now, whilst an old-school offline model could seemingly deliver a similar experience; our active site plans provide a lot more info even at a glance. The site overview gives buyers a chance to envision the full development, or in other words, it gives them a chance to see their new community from a birds-eye-view.
Our active site plans from the site overview screen, show every plot that’s been planned. At a glance, buyers can see which properties are; currently available, sold or in the early design phase. This can give buyers a sense of which area of the development still has the most options, or where they’d like their home to be situated. Developers can keep this view updated with the latest available properties, or switch them to red if one comes off the market.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Simple by clicking onto one of the builds, prospective buyers can get a summary of the plot name, whether its available, the current listing price and the number of bedrooms. This view can be generated even for property that is unavailable or still within the ‘not released category’.
You’ll spot in the image above, that once buyers have clicked into the preview of a property; they can jump deeper into a full 360 degree virtual tour. This is basically like being able to snoop around your neighbours property before they’ve even bought it!
Any property on the active site plan can be stepped inside and explored, its a virtual world with endless possibilities. Once developers have agreed on fittings and surfaces, EyeSiteView can also upload these into the virtual tours, where buyers can then use product selectors to browse different fittings and features – they can personalise a home that hasn’t even been built yet!

Perhaps the most exciting feature of our active site plans is that prospective buyers can jump down to street level, using the street view tool. Just like Google Maps, but the difference being is that buyers can then choose to explore inside any house, using the virtual tours feature.
Street-view is built with exceptional care and precision by our visual artists, the photo-real CGI gives a sense of being on street-level, with real detailed cars, lawns, streetlamps and more.
Check Property Availability
For a buyer, a typical mortgage application can last 6 months, typically a developer will therefore release plans, designs and models 6 months before the release date. This can become a lot to manage, with often hundreds of different listings.
The active site plan gives a clean and clear overview to everyone internally and also to buyers wishing to explore the site; what property is available, which property has been sold and which ones are still within the development phase.
Connect to Your Existing CMS
We mentioned this in the site overview section but this warrants its own benefit. Our EyeSiteView active site plans are the new central hub for your developments. Sometimes developers come to us with existing listing CMS and worry that a new digital tool will take too long to integrate, or won’t integrate at all.
Active site plans plug into your existing CMS, which means when anything on the development is updated – Property price change? Back on the market? Finally reserved? Sales advisors update their existing system and the active site plan updates. No additional systems to be seen here.
Active site plans – the ‘no brainer’
Active site plans cover off such a large segment of the customer journey, that they really are a no brainer. Add in that they bolt onto any existing CMS systems, they offer such seamless value for investment. As we move into 2022, buyers are become more expectant that the house-search process feels digital, interactive and dynamic. Active site plans give you all of this.
